Reacting to US President Donald Trump’s remarks, Pak COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa has told US ambassador David Hale:
“We don’t Deserve that Contempt-Treat us with Respect-Pakistan does not Need US Aid”
As per a Pak daily “Daily Times”, David Hale, said that the US had asked Pak to cooperate in order to eradicate terrorism from the region. “We are not looking for any material or financial assistance from USA but trust, understanding and acknowledgement of our contributions,” COAS said in response. COAS also suggested that this war can only be won through proper collaboration between all the nations involved in ending terrorism. In another damage control exercise Pakistan Army’s spokesman Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said Pakistani security officials had informed the American military officials who visited Pakistan about the action against the Haqqanis. “We have told them (American military officials) that we have taken action and will take action against the Haqqani Network and all other terrorists groups including the Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan,”. He said that Haqqanis and other terrorist groups had been eliminated from North Waziristan during the major offensive launched during 2014. However the Americans seem to have ignored Pakistan’s plea.
Pakistan needs to understand that it can no longer fool US by a narrative based on lies. Pak Army lost all its credibility post US hunting and killing Osama bin Laden in Abottabad. In spite of various operations launched by Pakistan in past it has miserably failed in convincing the world about its actual intentions and actions.
